A sponsor is someone like you who has decided to personally invest in the life of a child in need through monthly financial support and ongoing encouragement. Your commitment will enable a sponsored child to participate in Christ-based programs with life-changing benefits including:

• Daily nutritious meal(s). (Monday-Friday)
• Discipleship and character development through biblical instruction.
• Educational and exam support.
• Provision of school uniform, school supplies, and school fees for public school students.
• Assistance with general medical needs above the provision of the national healthcare system.
• Bi-annual checkups and health education through the school nurse.
• An annual Christmas gift in the name of the supporter.

In addition, you can help your sponsored child develop confidence and self-worth by expressing your love through prayers and connecting with your child. As a sponsor, you'll enjoy a connection with the specific child who you support – they will know your name, send you a personalized gift and photo each year.  You can also meet your child and family through virtual home visits.  Your child will benefit directly from your monthly sponsorship.

The cost to sponsor a child is $70 per month that is divided into two shares. You have the ability to accept responsibility for both shares and cover the entire cost of $70 or you can choose one share for $35 and leave the other share available for a family member, friend, or church member.

Yes! When you log into your REACH account next to your child's name there is a place to send a message. You can send a written message, attach photos, and also send a video message to your child. We encourage you to send a message with pictures of you and your family. Your child will enjoy knowing things about you like how many people are in your family, if you have a spouse or children, and what you enjoy doing in your free time. They also love when their sponsor writes a special prayer just for them.

Currently, sponsors can expect to receive an updated photo and a memento from their child during the year. They will also have the ability to send you messages, pictures, and video messages through the REACH website.

Our Xai-Xai staff call attendance daily to determine the participation of all the sponsor program kids. If at any time a child’s participation in the program begins to subside, our staff in Mozambique will follow up with the child and their caretakers to confirm the child’s continued involvement with the program. At times, circumstances do not permit a child’s continued involvement (for example, if the child moves away from their community). In the case that a child is no longer attending the program, their sponsor will be contacted immediately. If circumstances require a child to leave the program, we will give you the opportunity to sponsor a different child.

In 2008, Pastors Joe and Lori Champion responded to God’s call to plant their first international campus. What began as a feeding program in Xai-Xai became a full-fledged church that has spread to several communities. What makes Celebration Church Mozambique distinct among charitable organizations is its belief in the power of the local church to be the hands and feet of Christ for the people of Mozambique.

When a month has gone by without receiving funds for your sponsored child you will receive an email to let you know that the funds have not been received and prompt you to update payment details. Throughout that second month, if we have not heard back from you and/or funding has not been received, you will receive several reminder emails and a phone call to determine your status. If after 2 months your sponsorship funds have not been received we will regretfully cancel your sponsorship and make the child available for another sponsor.

Although a sponsor is not expected to contribute more than $35.00 a month, some have expressed a desire to do so. Due to certain tax laws, the complexity of managing the funds on the ground, and our desire that all our children feel equally special, we are unable to manage funds that are received for specific children over and above the $35 donation.
It is important to understand anything received above $35 gets directed to the general Sponsorship account used to manage the overall program. It is from this account we are able to provide medicine, school supplies, school uniforms, Christmas parties, Christmas gifts, do special projects, field trips, etc., that benefits the overall welfare of all the children involved in Celebration’s Sponsorship Program.

If a situation arises where you need to discontinue your child sponsorship please notify us as quickly as possible so we can find another sponsor for your child. You can discontinue your sponsorship through your Sponsorship Profile, send an email to sponsorship@celebration.church, or by contacting the church office at 512-763-3000 and ask to speak with someone with Child Sponsorship.

Our sponsored children remain in the program until they graduate from Secondary School or turn 21, whichever comes first.

The School of Champions is a private school built by Celebration Church and is fully funded through your sponsorship donations. It is attended solely by children in our Sponsorship program and includes preschool, primary school, and secondary school education. Our students are taught the Moçambican curriculum with certified Moçambican teaching staff, have access to the school library, are provided breakfast, a snack, and lunch daily, and consistently score amongst the highest on standardized tests in the country. All children entering our sponsorship program will attend the School of Champions. Because we have yet to complete the secondary school program through grade 12, there may be an occasion where an older child is made available for sponsorship who is not actively attending the School of Champions because they have surpassed the current grade level that we can offer.

We hope and pray that after graduation our sponsored children will continue their education at the collegiate level, will pursue a profitable vocation, and expand the reach of Celebration Church into numerous communities across Mozambique. Many sponsors have opted to continue investing into their sponsored child's future by contributing to the University Scholarship Fund that helps our kids with college tuition, supplies, and transportation. On average it costs $1200/year to send a student to college in Mozambique.
