Child Sponsorship March Update

Dear Sponsor,

Great progress is being made to make REACH, our new Child Sponsorship software management tool, a platform for you to stay up to date with what is happening in Mozambique. Most of you have signed up and are now making your sponsorship contributions in REACH. Thank you! REACH will be the system we use to communicate with you going forward. Following is information on the enhancements we are making to the program and our go forward plan regarding giving gifts to your sponsored child.

REACH Program Enhancements
By now you are probably seeing enhancements we’ve introduced since moving to REACH. We are pleased to announce that we have begun to use the Updates and Albums features that appear at the top of your portal page.

The Updates tab is where we will post frequent updates on what’s happening in Mozambique. Try it out now. We’ve added a post about the children’s first day of school you may enjoy.

The Albums tab is currently being populated. We are busy loading the children’s yearly photos for every year they have participated in the program. It will be fun to see how your sponsored child has changed year over year. We hope to have all of the photos uploaded over the next month.

Gift Giving
Unfortunately, we are no longer able to collect and send gifts over to the children because of the amount of luggage and weight restrictions we face transporting the gifts with our mission teams. Instead, twice a year, we will open up a donation page for those who wish to contribute money. The first opportunity will be for the June 1st Children’s Day Party and again in November for their annual Christmas Party. Our Celebration team in Xai-Xai will make sure your sponsored child feels loved by throwing parties that express the love of Jesus and are packed with fun activities. Also, every child will receive a nice gift and meal before they go home.

Mark Your Calendar
On Saturday, June 15, we will be hosting an event for Brent and Cherry Shaw, our missionaries in Xai-Xai, while they are in the states. You will receive an invitation with more information at a later date.

We currently have 470 children participating in the Program and expect this number to increase as we add more classes to our school in Mozambique. Celebration Church is playing an important role in equipping the students to be godly leaders in their communities and to be in a position to influence and help others to come to the knowledge of Christ.

On behalf of Pastors Joe and Lori Champion, we are thankful for your prayers and the generosity you continue to show the Celebration children in Mozambique.

Blessings,
